Josh Goff will be the editor of The Echo
in Spring 2005. He claimed the top position after five
semesters at the sports desk for the newspaper.
Goff is a sixth-year senior at the
University of Central Arkansas. The 23 year-old Hoxie,
Ark. native covers the UCA football and women’s
basketball teams in addition to his various other editorial
duties at The Echo. He also attends the occasional class.
Upon his graduation from Hoxie High
School in 2000, Goff enrolled at UCA on full academic
scholarship.
He promptly lost said scholarship and
embarked on a long, winding journey that has resulted in
approximately 728 credit hours. After two years without
declaring a major, Goff began pursuing a degree in Kinesiology
with ambitions of being a super-successful coach. Thwarted by
an insane portfolio and a fitness test involving sit-ups, Goff
came to the realization that watching sports and writing about
them for his job would be a fine alternative and switched to
Mass Communication.
Goff is scheduled to graduate sometime
before the turn of the next century. He has been scheduled to
graduate several other times.
A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Goff enjoys
watching his favorite teams lose, BET UnCut, and ESPN Classic.
Goff is extremely single and resides in
Conway.
