Thank you for your interest in UCA sports and for checking out getoffus.com. This little project got started when Josh and Kai wanted to give nearly live updates from the Gulf South Conference basketball tournament in Tupelo back in March 2005 for all the UCA fans who couldn’t make the trip. The Echo had no way of making it happen so we took it upon ourselves to bring life to the idea.
We also realized that things in the sports world happen during the summer, even if The Echo doesn’t. There was no way we could sit around for four months and not do a thing, and let all the summer activity go by unnoticed.
Now we have a place to provide news when school is not in session or when there is no more room to fit things in The Echo.
However, this project is independent of our fine newspaper and what we do here is on a voluntary basis. Financing the domain name, the bandwidth, the server space and other site-related expenses incurred can sometimes get a bit demanding, especially on two college studentsÕ budgets.
