The University of Central Arkansas is the
Gulf South Conference women's All-Sports Trophy champion,
according to a Monday release by the GSC office.
UCA was second to Delta State in the men's
All-Sports Trophy race.
The UCA women won the trophy for the
second time in three years on the strength of conference
championships in basketball and golf. UCA also had a
third-place finish in women's cross country and reached the
semifinals in women's tennis.
UCA finished with 69.5 points to easily
beat second-place Alabama-Huntsville (59.5). West Florida was
third (55.5), followed by North Alabama (54.5), Valdosta State
(51.5) and Harding (46.5).
On the men's side, DSU finished with 62.5
points while UCA had 53.5. The rest of the top five included
Valdosta State (53), North Alabama (51.5) and West Florida
(48).
