Echo Sports mopped up at Friday’s
Arkansas College Media Association Awards. The dynamic duo of
Kai Caddy and Josh Goff pulled in nine awards for their efforts
over the past year in the print version of The Echo.
Goff won four writing awards. He placed
first and second in sports feature writing, second in sports
column and third in sports story writing.
Caddy won the ACMA Designer of the Year
award, second place in art illustration/photo and an honorable
mention in art illustration/photo.
The duo teamed up to pull in two more
awards for sports page layout. They won first and third place
in that category.
The ACMAs pit all Arkansas college
publications against each other. Each school is eligible to
enter three items per category. The
Echo garnered General Excellence
honors for newspaper, while editor Sara Sawyer picked up the
coveted Newspaper Editor of the Year award.
